Spooky Time Special (and a Patreon Update!)

As I mentioned last week, I've got a special deal on my Patreon from now until the end of September! Also! I've updated our $350 goal. Folks weren't really feeling the book club, and with upcoming projects I don't know that I'd have the time to maintain it. So, I've decided that we'll do a one-time big donation instead. Once the Patreon hits $350, we'll do a one-time $100 donation to the charity of patrons' choosing (in addition to the monthly 10% donation).

Last Week You Have to Hear About This!

Unless we elect Larry Elder and then all you get is me talking about all the things we have to do to stop him from breaking the country! Don't want that? Me either. Vote. (Sorry to non-Californians, I know this is annoying and kind of pulls from the reason you're here, but this has a way bigger footprint than California.)

So, here's the thing. I'm not going to do the thing that the ads do and tell you that Gavin Newsom is sunshine and rainbows. If I'm being entirely frank, I want the dweeb out of office too.

But not like this.

If you felt one single ounce of relief over Trump getting voted out and you live in the state of California it is imperative that you vote today if you have not already. I know Newsom sucks. I know he's exhausting. Republicans know that too, which is why they kicked off this recall. They saw a weak point that could gain them access to the fifth biggest economy in the world. They saw a way back to Senate control. They saw a way to follow in Texas' footsteps to gut women's rights. We cannot allow that to happen.

I'm here to help it make sense in whatever way I can. I get being exhausted by uninspiring candidates. Truly. But uninspiring has to be the choice over Elder, Trump and their ilk.

Did you start watching Reservation Dogs yet? Start watching Reservation Dogs. It's on FX on Hulu. Supergirl is back and I'm thrilled (and may or may not have an interview coming your way in the next few weeks). Malignant is wackadoo, as mentioned, but also check out Martyrs Lane on Shudder. It's my fave out of Fantasia.

I'm no longer physically going to Fantastic Fest, but I'll share any surprises I find from the digital version when the time comes!

(Ted Lasso remains legit one of the best series on air right now but I feel bad because I mention it every week. BUT ALSO LAST WEEK'S EPISODE WAS A SERIES BEST. Ok, sorry. Go watch it.)
